Ilana has been a part of NGAB since 2021, soon after she moved to Montezuma County. Originally from the Pacific Northwest, she moved to the region for an Americorps position and for access to climbing and skiing in the Four Corners.

She currently works for the Daily Yonder, a nonprofit rural newsroom, writing about rural Southwest Colorado for a national audience. She is passionate about community engagement and development and sustainable conservation and strives to improve life for her community through work and volunteering.
