Hello, my name is Brian I'm an intern at MLC. I was born in Long Beach California. I came to Cortez, Colorado when I was 2 years old with my grandparents who adopted me so I could have a better life in Colorado–and have been here ever since.
I love to work, and I have the keen ability to be on task and goofy on the job site at the same time. I also love to meet new people, be outside and connect with the nature around me. This world is one of a kind and I really try to treat it like my own home. What I love about MLC is how they help the community and get young students involved in farming.
I learned this through Agriculture Immersion in 2022, one of the programs in which they educate students in Montezuma County about the importance of agriculture in our lives and community. I wanted to be in the Ag Immersion program last year because I felt it would help me mature and prepare for the future.
Now, as an intern, I want to expand my knowledge on agriculture. This is my fourth professional workspace and this would have to be one of the best. Looking towards the future, I hope to be able to stay involved in programs like these, that help the community and the environment around us to thrive.
