Ray and Sammie Coulon led the way when they became the first landowners in Montezuma County to put a conservation easement on their ranch in 1999. They saw the development happening around the county and they and their children agreed they didn’t want to see their land split up into a subdivision. Ray and Sammie have spent most of their lives in the area and bought their 210 acre ranch in 1971. Ray served as a board member at MLC for over 15 years. They are proud to know this special place will be here for generations to come. Thanks for leading the way!
