“We do not see nature with our eyes, but with our understandings and our hearts.” –William Hazlett
Jamie was raised in Southwest Colorado, splitting time between the family ranch in the sandstone canyons of lower Yellow Jacket and in the summer range in the pines near Durango. She was in 4-H, competing horse-back in Western, English and Rodeo, market beef and shooting sports. While at Fort Lewis College she spent 3 semesters abroad, one in India, one in Argentina, and the last in Turkey. All of these experiences helped shape her ethic and appreciation around open space and Southwest Colorado. The last 5 years she spent as the Stewardship Director for a neighboring land trust and learning how to manage the family ranges. She spends her time fixing fence, canyoneering, hiking, backpacking, mountain biking, rafting and ranch sorting.
