Fort Lewis Farmer Training Program

Duke grew up in Taos, New Mexico, and moved to Durango, Colorado in 2012 to attend Fort Lewis College. He moved to Mancos in 2019 where he currently resides. Duke has dedicated his working life to farming and agriculture for over a decade, and he currently works for the Fort Lewis Farming Training Program (at the Old Fort in Hesperus) as the programs Production Coordinator, and as a coordinator for the Old Fort Farm Incubator Program. He also grows garlic for the Grasshopper Collective, a farmer owned and operated cooperative based in the Mancos Valley. Duke is passionate about feeding his community, working with the next generation of folks in agriculture, and building foodways based in reciprocity, democracy, community, and responsible stewardship.
