MLC is more than just a traditional land trust. While working to protect important landscapes in Southwest Colorado, we also work to engage our community in our mission and bring the benefits of land conservation to as many people as possible.

MLC Reaccreditation
Seeking Public Comments
MLC is applying for renewal of accreditation and a public comment period is now open. The land trust accreditation program recognizes land conservation organizations that meet national quality standards for protecting important natural places and working lands forever.
MLC has been an accredited land trust since 2010. As an organization committed to the community and lands of Southwest Colorado, MLC prioritizes compliance with national quality standards.
The Land Trust Accreditation Commission invites public input on pending applications. Comments must relate to how MLC complies with national quality standards which address the ethical and technical operation of a land trust.
Learn more and submit any comments on MLC’s application by March 22, 2026.
