Land Access Info Session

October 29, 2025
4:30 pm
- 6:30 pm

Representatives from Montezuma Land Conservancy will be hosting an information session and discussion at the Livery in Norwood to share about our organization’s land access initiatives that we hope to grow in San Miguel County. Projects discussed will include the Traditional Harvest Project and the Community Land Partnership of the Southwest.

The Traditional Harvest Project (THP) is a collaboration between MLC, the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe, and other regional partners that builds relationships between landowners and the UMU community, provides voluntary land access to UMU member for traditional harvesting of culturally significant plants, and provides landowners with customized land management plans for supporting their native plant habitats.

The Community Land Partnership of the Southwest (CLPS) is MLC’s new land-holding sub-organization. CLPS provides a land succession opportunity for landowners who wish to keep their land in agriculture while making that land accessible and affordable to the next generation of young farmers and ranchers.

This information session and discussion is geared for landowners in San Miguel County and surrounding areas but anyone with an interest in learning about local innovative land access initiatives is welcome to attend.

Food and refreshments will be provided.

RSVP HERE. (Pre-registration is not required but will help us plan for seating and food quantities.)
