Planting Day at Road 39

October 18, 2025
10:00 am
- 3:00 pm

Volunteers needed! On Saturday, October 18 from 10am to 3pm, MLC and our partners in the Traditional Harvest Project will be hosting a planting day at which volunteers will help transplant seedlings near the Mancos River on properties located on County Road 39.

This project aims to strengthen native plant communities on properties in the Mancos Valley that are open to cultural access and traditional harvesting by members of the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe. Seedlings transplanted will enhance habitat and support Tribal community plant material needs used for ceremonies, celebrations, food, and medicine.

Snacks and all needed materials will be provided. Volunteers should bring their own sack lunch, water bottles, sun protection, layers, and a pair of work gloves if you have them. Long pants and sturdy shoes or water-resistant boots are highly recommended.

Parking instructions and meeting location will be sent out in the days ahead of the event. Please pre-register here!
