3rd Annual Cycle for Conservation
September 20, 2025
9:00 am - 2:00 pm
Our Cycle for Conservation bike tour is back for a 3rd year! This event is planned and hosted by MLC’s Next Generation Advisory Board (NGAB) and showcases lands conserved by MLC. This year the 7-mile ride will mostly cover paved and gravel roads, with a little bit of not-too-technical singletrack, in the Boggy Draw area outside of Dolores. The pedaling will be followed with a post-ride celebration at Dolores Bike Hostel featuring door prize drawings, screen printing of a special MLC NGAB block print, and lots more fun. Upcycled shirts will be available for purchase for the screen printing, or BYO shirt or other fabric item for a screen printing for just $10!

SCHEDULE:
9:00 am: Meet at the Boggy Draw Trailhead
9:30 am: Ride begins! Take a casually-paced 7-mile pedal to see and learn about two conservation easements in the Boggy Draw Area, including the Nature Center at Butler Corner.
11:45 am (approx): Return back to Boggy Draw Trailhead
12:00 – 2:00 pm: Post-ride celebration at Dolores Bike Hostel featuring door prize drawings, special shirt printing, and lots more fun. Open to riders and non-riders alike!
Bike ride details and etiquette:
Helmets are strongly encouraged. So are working front and rear lights.
Please signal your intentions throughout the ride!
All riders must complete a release of liability (included in online registration and also available day-of if needed).
The route is on both gravel and paved roads with a little stretch of not-overly-technical singletrack peppered in. A mountain bike is recommended.
