Seeding Days at Road 39
November 7
10:00 am - November 8
4:00 pm
Volunteers needed! On November 7 and 8, MLC and our partners in the Traditional Harvest Project will be hosting a seeding day to wrap up our 2025 restoration work on the Road 39 project in the Mancos Valley.
For the past two years, we have been restoring one mile of riparian habitat along the Mancos River. It has taken many hands and many workdays to get to this point — and now we’re ready for our final step: spreading native seed across the restored area to set the land up for winter.
These seeding workdays are lighter-duty than past planting efforts — no digging, no heavy lifting, and no getting in the water — just meaningful time spent on the land helping native seed take root before winter.
(Partial day participation is welcome — any time helps!)

This project aims to strengthen native plant communities on properties in the Mancos Valley that are open to cultural access and traditional harvesting by members of the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe. Seeds sown will enhance habitat and support Tribal community plant material needs used for ceremonies, celebrations, food, and medicine.

Parking instructions and meeting location will be sent to you upon registration.
